Good Morning Stewart Family

This season of political propaganda is finally over, as Donald Trump has secured the title as president elect by obtaining 290 electoral votes compared to his competitor’s 232 votes. Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 45th president of the United States is set for 12pm EST January 20th, 2017 at the U.S. Capital. So as we are thinking about what our new president will say in his inauguration speech, think about what we are telling our customers.

This week I would like to speak about what to say to customers that would like to file a claim. Drivers telling the customer incorrect information is one of the largest complaints that I receive from our customers. Some customer’s state that they were told that they have 30 days to file a claim others say that they were told that they had 75 days. However, the answer to this question is “it depends.”

The length of time that a customer has to file a claim is dependent on what type of move/damage it is. Military, interstate COD, intrastate COD, and property damage all have different time limitations in regards to filing a claim. The best answer is to simply tell them to contact the claims department. This way you can avoid giving the customer misinformation that could cause more problems and frustration later on.

So pay attention to what we tell our customers, tell them to contact the claims department, and avoid creating additional frustration through misinformation.

Cheers,

Robert Wright
