Your upcoming move doesn't have to Scrooge-ify your holiday season

Moving during the holidays doesn’t have to be a seasonal buzz kill. You can still make amazing holiday memories this year! We are sharing some of our favorite, tried and true holiday season moving hacks and wish you the Happiest Holidays in your new home!


·        Decorate your move. Have holiday décor items that can be easily set up and put away… a small tree or perhaps a door wreath. These and other unbreakable items can help your home feel more festive and won’t bog you down when it’s time to pack it up and relocate. Take some holiday cheer on your drive as well, if you’ll be spending a long time in the car during your move by tuning into a holiday music channel or even adding reindeer décor to your car. 

·        If you usually send holiday card to friends and family- try sending them out a bit earlier and have them also serve as your “I’ve Moved” address update notification for friends and family. We all know the ‘change of address’ w the Post office isn’t perfect- get your cards out in time for others to send your card to your new home.

·        Check out holiday sales for necessary items for your new home or even moving supplies. There are some great sales this time of year; including % off coupons and other bargains you can use to keep y our move costs in check. There are always new things needed to settle into your new home- curtains or blinds, new trash cans, linens, décor- shop sales and get all the cash back and other deals you can this time of year!

·        Let the unpacking wait! We rarely recommend procrastination as a moving tip but hear us out. You don’t have to get everything unpacked post haste- explore your new city. Get to know people, attend holiday events. Let yourself experience the holiday spirit that surrounds you, in your new hometown.
