Good Morning Stewart Family,

Happy football season everyone! This weekend, approximately 27 million Americans tuned into the start of the 2016 NFL season. This means that roughly 70% of people that own a television watched at least part of an NFL game this weekend. Just as the NFL teams work hard to ensure that players are in the proper position we must ensure that all of our equipment is used in the proper position.

This week I would like to talk about furniture dolly use in the home. I personally am not a huge fan of using dollies in the house period. However, I understand that it is unavoidable in some situations. In these circumstances it is essential that the dollies are only used on the floor protection that we have put down.

I routinely see hardwood floor claims that were caused from someone sliding a dolly under an item with no protection under it. These claims are extremely expensive and even one scratch can cause the company to have to pay for refinishing the entire floor. The best way to avoid this scenario is to move the item to an area where we have floor protection down and then use the dolly. It is not time consuming and can help us all save money.

So limit the dolly use in the home, keep them on the floor protection, and do your part to avoid these claims.

Cheers,

Robert Wright – Claims Manager
